Side channel pumps
The side channel pump is a robust and universal pump technology that is characterised by unique design features. Its open impeller with radially arranged blades is enclosed on both sides by a suction and pressure stage with extremely narrow gap distances. A channel-like delivery chamber is integrated in the outer area of the pressure stage, which receives and transports the medium.
Functional principle:
During rotation, the medium flows back and forth in a spiral pattern between the impeller blades and the housing channel. This enables a gradual increase in pressure – the pressure increase is generated continuously from the inlet to the outlet.
In multi-stage pumps, a higher delivery pressure or a greater delivery head can also be achieved via the number of stages.
They are gas-carrying, self-priming and achieve pulsation-free delivery.
