Our history
How it all began
It all started in 1984 as a pure trading company in the field of pump technology. Over the last four decades, we have established ourselves as your competent partner for all matters "around the pump". Today, we are still family-owned and run with great passion and commitment and look forward to further exciting projects with you.
We look back on over 40 years of company history and many unforgettable moments!
Reactions of the company owner's colleagues at the time from employment to self-employment: "Are you crazy? Starting your own business in these times?"
Back then... in January 1984, the jump to self-employment took us to office space in Leverkusenstraße. "It was a nice new office whose rent was too expensive and we couldn't really afford it. Take heart, we did it anyway!"
"In October 1984 we reached one million DM in outgoing invoices, a milestone we celebrated."
"In 1986 we took over Speckvertretung Norddeutschland, this gave us security and we were able to specialise."
"In December 88, we moved to Donnerstrasse. We recorded large bad debts from several well-known companies."
"In 2001, we took a big step and moved into our first own company rooms in Flurstraße. To this day, our heads are still smoking in these rooms."
Annually repeated again and again…
Then the Christmas parties in "Ton Perstall". These became a tradition loved by all as long as the old horse stable was in use. Afterwards we went bowling or to karaoke. Those who were most convinced not to sing were the first to take to the microphone...
And not to forget:
...the unforgettable summer parties at Kathi and Christian's garden. The E-cop made some of the muscles ache the following day.
... how we took care of the catering ourselves at our first SMM exhibition stand and served homemade chili-con-carne and fricassee. This was traditionally served for years at every birthday of the respective cook.
... our main exhibit was a galvanised bucket (hanging from the ceiling in the middle of the stand). This was an internal buzzword for the pump from a tender, the requirements of which were practically impossible to fulfil in their entirety.
2020
The long-time sister companies AP-Pumpen and
Ingenieure Willy Wandrach merge to Ingenieure Willy Wandrach GmbH.
2012
As a consequence of using the extended possibilities of the workshop and the related deeper delivery program beyond pure trading, the company, which had been operating purely as a trading company until then, developed into a nationwide technical pump supplier. As a result, AP-Pumpen Vertrieb Hamburg GmbH was renamed AP-Pumpen GmbH.
2007
At the beginning of the year, the second building on the same ground is completed. As a result, the workshop moves into the new rooms, which are four times larger. The storage space can be doubled at the same time.
2005
Due to the expansion of the number of agencies and partnerships with other pump manufacturers and increased service and consulting activities, the name of the industrial company W. Wandrach GmbH is changed to Ingenieure Willy Wandrach GmbH.
2001
Due to the steady growth, the construction of own business rooms began. The company moves to Flurstraße. At the same time, an in-house workshop for repair and service work is added.
1988
Five years after the foundation, the space capacities are exhausted. Therefore, in December 1988, the company moved from Leverkusenstraße to the new offices in Donnerstraße.
1986
The ongoing partnership with Speck Pumpen Walter Speck GmbH & Co. KG is further intensified by the award of the factory representation. The sister company Industrievertretung Willy Wandrach GmbH is founded, which acts as an independent company alongside AP-Pumpen Vertrieb Hamburg GmbH as a factory representative.
1984
AP-Pumpen Vertrieb Hamburg GmbH is founded as a manufacturer-independent trading house for pump technology.
